The Strong and Handsome Zeus
Zeus was the King of the gods and lived on Mount Olympus. Zeus was the god of the sky and thunder in Greek mythology, and his Roman name was Jupiter. Zeus was the child of Cronus and Rhea, and was even the youngest of his siblings. He was married to Hera, one of his sisters, although he was known to have more than one relationship at a time. His symbols include the thunderbolt, eagle, bull, and oak. He was also known as a cloud gatherer, as he derives certain traits. Zeus's role was to preside over the Greek Olympian pantheon. Zeus had two brothers including Hades and Poseidon, and three sisters including Hera, Hestia, and Demeter. Zeus was the protector of his family, as he had the most power and rule over anyone. Zeus also had many temples in his honor, with the most famous and known being Olympia, which is called "Temple of Zeus." This temple held a gold and ivory statue of him, and was considered one of the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World." |
