       The Stars Will

            Shine

Eos, mother of the four winds, and gentle dawn, awoke and announced the coming of a new day.  All nature woke, ravishing to see her.  One morning, as she speculated down on earth, her charming, shiny, eyes lay on a young, extremely handsome prince.  Eos had affection for this prince, and wanted him to become her husband.  Although Eos was in love with him, she was a goddess, and he was a mortal, who had a short life span.   When Eos finished her morning chores, she went to Zeus, the king of gods, and exhorted him to give eternal life to the prince, whom was named Tithonus.

Eos took Tithonus to her palace, and together they spent several ambrosial years.  Even though Eos went to Zeus, she had failed to question Tithonus to be also given eternal youth.  Slowly, he grew weak, and even shrank, and even began to grow with a squeaky voice.  Gradually, he became  an old man, but he could not die, because he was given eternal life.  Over time, Tithonus had become so small, that Eos decided to put in a basket, and put him were he couldn't be seen.  As Tithonus grew smaller and smaller, he had turn into a grasshopper, who went on chirping.

Although,  Eos was confident and determined to keep on with her life, as she did before she had seen Tithonus, and from that very day, she continued to wake the world and even spoke of her soon to be brother, whom was the sun.  Although Eos never married Tithonus, they had two sons when they were together named Memnon and Emathion.
