Mythology

Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece and located between Thessaly and Macedonia.  The mountain itself has fifty two peaks, with the highest reaching 2, 917 meters.  Mount Olympus is known for it's rich flora and endemic species.

Troy, a legendary city, was located in northwest Anatolia, and what is now Turkey.  Troy is best known for the Trojan War, which is described exceptionally well in the lliad, one of the two poems attributed to Homer.  The climate was hot, ranging from 80 and 90 degrees, with dry summers being mild or between 60 and 70 degrees, ad wet winters being very cold and hard for Trojans.  Troy was mostly made  of mountains and a high coastal plain, although, at times there were severe earthquakes,  which caused damage to land and castles.

Greece, a country in southeastern Europe, is mountainous, with many gulfs and bays. Most of Greece is stony for pasturage, but the rest is suitable for growing wheat and barley.  The climate in ancient Greece was the same as Troy's, with hot and dry summers, and wet winters. Greece is currently located on a peninsula extending into the Mediterranean Sea.  Greece was surrounded by areas of water, but it was even barren, which was very bad for their agriculture.  Most of the Greeks lived on the coast which was an excellent place for farming because there was rich soil.
